Take a pleasant journey through TUSCIA and enjoy Lake Bolsena, a lake of volcanic origin in the northern part of the province of Viterbo.
The lake has a long history, the Romans called it Lacus Volsinii.
Proceed to one of the area's attractions, ‘Rocca dei Papi’. It’s located on the highest point of the town of Montefiascone. The fortress was built by Pope Innocent III during the 13th century and later used by many other popes. This is why the town is known as a papal town, and once on top, there is an incredible view over the Bolsena lake.
 
Make a stop in Ischia di Castro.
The town is home to the Ducal Palace, or Rocca, whose project Antonio da Sangallo the Younger collaborated with. It was once a palace of the Farnese family.
Nearby the village is the Etruscan necropolis of Castro, a must-visit place for those fond of nature and history. Ischia di Castro is central to an important and very interesting archaeological area.
